This page explains what the app stores, why it stores it, and how you can ask WordAlike to remove your data.
Effective date
March 30, 2026WordAlike is a daily word puzzle app. If you create an account, the app stores the minimum account, profile, and gameplay information needed to run sign-in, maintain your streak and history, and show competition results.
Data collected
Account details from the sign-in provider you choose, such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider account identifier.
Profile data saved inside WordAlike, including your display name, username, current streak, and best streak.
Gameplay records such as puzzle sessions, guesses, solve outcomes, and active solve time used for leaderboards and profile history.
Technical data needed to run the service, including session cookies and limited request metadata used for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
Product analytics and error-monitoring identifiers when those services are enabled for the app.
How data is used
Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
Store your streaks, profile stats, and leaderboard placement.
Operate, secure, debug, and improve the game.
Prevent abuse and protect sign-in and puzzle-generation endpoints.
Sharing and retention
Authentication providers such as Facebook and Google when you choose those login methods.
Infrastructure and service providers used to host the app, store data, and monitor reliability.
Analytics and error-monitoring providers when enabled for the service.
WordAlike does not sell your personal data.
Your choices
You can request deletion of your WordAlike account data at any time from the data deletion page. Removing your account from WordAlike does not automatically remove data held by Facebook, Google, PostHog, Sentry, or other third-party providers under their own policies.
